What do we mean when we say "return"? Here in Wabanakik, this word is abundant with ideas and actions: we're returning land to Wabanaki Nations, access to land for harvest, financial resources, full recognition of sovereignty, decision-making authority around land care. We're also returning to a different way of working together across Wabanaki and non-native communities, one based respect and collaboration.

Join us for an event co-hosted by First Light and Wabanaki Public Health and Wellness to celebrate, explore, and grow a shared vision for return. In the morning of October 11th, we'll gather at the Penobscot Theater to hear from Indigenous speakers from Wabanakik and beyond, sharing the ways they view this work and what they ask of us all to take the next steps forward.

We're honored to be joined by speakers:

Carol Dana and Kelly Demmons will offer prayer and song to begin the day.

The morning event is open to the public, including Wabanaki and non-native community members, colleagues, family and friends; please join us!
